Black dragons can be assigned as a slayer task at level 80 combat by various Slayer masters after partial completion of Dragon Slayer I. Note: The brutal black dragon variant requires level 77 Slayer to kill. Black dragons are found in small numbers in various caves all over the world. They attack with melee and dragonfire, thus some protection against it should be considered (the brutal black dragon also uses magic). Due to their large size, they are usually able to be safespotted with ranged or halberd-like weapons. As dragons they are also weak to dragonbane weapons.

Black dragon	227	199.5	Taverley Dungeon Evil Chicken's Lair Lava Maze Dungeon Corsair Cove Dungeon Mynydd	The standard version of black dragon. The Evil Chicken's Lair requires partial completion of Recipe for Disaster/Freeing Sir Amik Varze as well as a raw chicken and a rope. The Corsair Cove Cave requires completion of Dragon Slayer II. Mynydd requires completion of Song of the Elves.
Black dragon	247	262	Wilderness Slayer Cave	A slightly higher-level variant. Only found in the Wilderness Slayer Cave.

Brutal black dragon	318	346.5	Catacombs of Kourend	A particularly strong variant of black dragon with an additional magic attack. Requires level 77 Slayer.
