How to Draft a Simple Underbust Corset Pattern
" I just wanted to say how much I love the Sophia pattern! I have made 2 of them so far and they were not only a joy to make but they are so lovely to wear. Out of the 6 corsets I've made so far it is by far my favourite pattern " ... Susie.
A modern underbust corset pattern by Sew Curvy. This pattern is the pattern we use in our classes. It has a modern hourglass shape, with a dramatic nip at the waist and 6 panels each side.
Multi size and with full instructions. There's a kit to make this corset, including printed pattern, available here. The Sew Curvy Corset kit also includes pre-cut steel bones, busk, half a metre of fabric, lacing, boning tape, binding and eyelets.
The pre-cut bone sizes required to make the corset are: 21cm x 4 flat, 21cm x 4 spiral, 23cm x 4 spiral, 24cm x 2 spiral. Busk is 9-10" standard.
Because the corset bones in this kit are pre-cut, it makes assembly super easy. This is therefore the easiest corsetry kit for absolute beginners.
This Sew Curvy underbust corset pattern is distributed in print format on a single piece of sturdy A0 paper which means that it can be traced with ease and used many times. If required, the pattern instructions can be cut page by page to make the whole sheet less cumbersome.
Comes with free flossing template and 5% off voucher for future supplies.
